Adàwe Crossing over the Rideau River turned 10 this year! To celebrate the connection between our two communities, ASH and the Overbrook Community Association encouraged residents to meet up again on December 4.
Special thanks to Working Title Kitchen for donating the hot chocolate, to RSC for providing supplies, to our neighbourhood Councillors Stéphanie Plante and Rawlson King, to ASH & OCA volunteers for organizing, and to Sabrina who had the idea 10 years ago to turn the opening of the bridge into a cookie exchange!
So many great stories and memories were shared but it was too cold to record them! Please use this Google form if you want to share a story. Stories will be added to this post as they are received. Click "Read more" below to see what your neighbours have to say.

What do you love about the bridge and this community event?
Andrew says: I really appreciated this opportunity to celebrate and be grateful. While I was away from Sandy Hill for almost a decade, this bridge was designed and constructed - what a difference it makes for me and the life of our community! (And judging by the size of the crowd that gathered, I am not alone in feeling this!) It's not just the practical dimension of opening up pedestrian and cycle flows, but the bird watching, the art, the opportunity to enjoy another perspective upon the treasure that is the Rideau, etc ... A heart-felt 'thank you' to the organizers, the sponsors, the councillors ... A wonderful reminder of the good we enjoy.
