3. Alternate Neighbourhood Crisis Response (ANCHOR)
In June ANCHOR is expanding to Ward 12 which includes Sandy Hill. ANCHOR is a 24/7, community-led, culturally sensitive, and equity-focused response to mental health and substance use crises, which dispatches skilled teams to people experiencing such crises. ANCHOR assesses the client and offers services that are safe and tailored to individual needs. ANCHOR also provides well-being checks, referrals, connections to other services, resources and information.
Community members in Sandy Hill can call 2-1-1, instead of 9-1-1, if they or someone else is experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis.

4. Potential Plumbing Leaks
Did you know that with a My ServiceOttawa account you can register to get email
notifications quickly when the system detects continuous uninterrupted water flow over a seven-day period? This allows a quicker turnaround to identify and resolve the issue or contact a licensed plumber, if needed, potentially avoiding higher water consumption and unexpected water bill charges.
Keep in mind that these courtesy alerts usually point to a leak on private property. Homeowners are responsible for all water usage on their property, leak monitoring as well as the repair and maintenance of plumbing fixtures.
Click here to register your water and sewer bill account. You will need an account number and customer number and most recent water bill amount.

6. Sandy Hill Outdoor Rink
Sadly the Rink closed early in March due to warming temperatures and rain. Nevertheless, we had a great season. We were open about 50 days and approximately 950 people skated on both ice surfaces. Many thanks to those who used the rink and to our great team of rink attendants and ice maintainers.
See you all next season!
